In the late 1960’s Eric Clapton ditched the twangy popular sounds of his peers and completely turned the guitar world upside down.

The sounds is harmonically rich, smoother than butter yet somehow haunting at the same time. This strange new sound needed a name, so he coined it ‘the woman tone’.
